State Of the Nation Address...

is like the state of the nation address last nine years ago when the great four-feeter (you should who am i talking about.) is speaking at the center of the camara de representantes: He is giving some fact and figures that I don't know if its true or not. But one thing is for sure, the Batasang Pambansa is surely jam-packed not only from the inside but also from the outside.

SONA is like a red-carpet premiere of a famous movie or a Grammy awards night. Imagine, these congressmen spent millions and millions of peso just to have a barong tagalog which is designed not by your ordinary Sastre, but by Rajo Laurel. The question is, from where do they get that kind of money? from their pockets or from OUR pockets?

SONA is like a grand reunion of all the activist here in the Philippines. rallying here, rallying there, rallying everywhere. I guess the Most Valuable Player of these group of angry anti-Noynoy people would be The Hacienda Luisita farmers. All they need is their land to be returned but for no reason or unknown reason rather, The president would not allow.

Enough with the glits and glamours and greases and dirt of the people. Let's focus on the SONA per se.

Fortunately, I obtain myself a copy of his speech and here's the link

http://www.coolbuster.net/2011/07/president-aquino-2011-state-of-nation.html

It's long enough for you to read that the next time you open your eyes, its already nighttime. now in the first place, why do I need to obtain this copy.

well, very simple.

I DIDN'T WATCH HIS SPEECH.

But according to an economist and also one of my idols, Winnie Monsod, and not verbatim "there is something that is missing on his speech." and somehow, I am one of the believers of what she said. Imagine.
He never acknowledge the real situation of our country. He didn't even mention some challenges that came during his administration: the hostage crisis in Quirino Grandstand, the... argh, it so many, i can't put it in my blog. Oh, I forgot how will the palace got to deal the silence of Krissy.

Also, in his speech, there are some words that he used for the Nth time, such as Wang-wang. Yes, the tyranny of those traffic violators using wang-wang is over ( I was amaze by using the street as a great metaphor for our society: On the left side you will see beggar sleeping under the over pass near the commonwealth market, On the right side you will see a rich kid driving fast with his Chevrolet Cruze. on the first lane there's a jeepney driver drivng smoothly for a living. On the other lane comes a Rich Kid racing with other cars and uses his unauthorized "wang-wang" just for him to reach to his destination fast. Die you rich kid.) but boy, you see there are no more "wang-wangs" and if ever, I will personally go down and say to that guy (in tagalog) "boss, bawal na po ang wang-wang ah?" I swear I will do it. come on PNoy, Enough of the wang-wang. It's over. It's okay if you do your Cranium Gloria Bashing. It just puts a big grin to my face.

But come to think of it.

What's SONA got to do with us Filipinos? How can you possibly deliver this speech full of facts and figures to a person who worries about what to eat today and tomorrow? How can a guy like the president of the Philippines be able to explain this to a beggar who sleeps under the overpass in lay man's term?

Well. I guess that it is one of our Filipino Values: and that is being "usisero". You know, we can't start another conversation without having a topic from outside source. but it's another blog for me.

P.S.

I bet to you my fellow citizens next year, It's still the same scenario that we will be seeing, Extravagant clothes of your Congressmen, Rally of these angry anti-noynoy people, etc.

the only difference?

Noynoy will be proud to announce that (in tagalog)

"AKO PO'Y NATUTUWANG IBALITA SA INYO NA KAMI NI SHALANI'Y NAGKABALIKAN NA AT MAGPAPAKASAL NA SA LALONG MADALING PANAHON." (standing ovation.)

PPS.

Noynoy still endures his cough. promise.

Filipino values that must be discussed for the sake of young readers like you.

We are not Filipinos (I capitalized the letter F because im proud of it.) if we don't know any single Filipino value. and as for you, young one, I should discuss to you some of Filipino values that has been existed in our culture.

one of which is Debt of Gratitude or in tagalog UTANG NA LOOB.

I guess that nothing is more painful that some tells you this...

"WALA KANG UTANG NA LOOB!"

this is not your ordinary debt like material debt or more common, monetary debt. take note, in tagalog, it has the word LOOB. in filipino psychology, it is the reflection on how we deal with other people. And, it is the only debt that doesn't need to be paid off.

We have a big Debt of Gratitude to our parents, because without them, we are not existing in this planet. and most of all,

We have a humongous debt of gratitude to our God, because without him, we are not alive and kicking.

but sometimes, this Debt of gratitude has somehow a negative effect on our society. like this:

--->

Merceditas Gutierrez (the one with a mole on her forehead.) has a very big debt of gratitude on Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (The one with a mole on her cheek.) as a result, Merci does NOT and I mean NOT persecuted GMA, although she made our country as one of the poorest country of them all.

oh no, here we go again, so for the sake of our common good,  enough of this ok? UTANG NA LOOB.

The second one is what we called Resignation, or in lay man's term "Bahala na." yep, you know when we don't know what we're going to do or you are just lazy to do it, you'll just say "Bahala na." On the positive side, it may show that we are putting the fate in god's hands. or we are just free-spirited people and we are putting our life in fate's hands.

It seems to be contrasting to the third and final value that we possess. and that is Hardwork. Being a hardworking person or being "masipag" is widely recognize internationally. That's why every where in the world there are OFW's.

now you might ask, why contrasting? I guess it would be self-explanatory...

Now my fellow youngsters, I guess that one or two of these values are in you, otherwise, aside from you are not speaking are mother language, what in the world are you doing here in our beloved country?

2 years and counting.

Many years gone by,
Everybody meets eye to eye.
Roaming each day with no reason to fly
Yet happily they are floating up the sky.
Living freely and enjoying life

Anticipating every tomorrow as they sleep
Nothing is more romantic for him to kiss his wife
Nor start another relationship to start and keep.

Just as they thought someone would break them
Or have the guts to kill one of them.
Years later they are still together
Caring and loving each other like an undying flame blazed by a burner
Every time he sees her face

God knows how miserable he is
Unknown to others that he is happy
But a wounded heart hides his smiling face
And until he dies, his grave is at bliss
Now and forever will he be her silent watcher and be with her for all eternity.

Dear Someone I never found for 2 years... and counting.

We started as mere strangers, enrolled in the same course and never thought that would be the first act of eternal love that god would do.

I don't expect that someone like you will be part of my life. I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU...

But as day goes by, I am starting to realize how you're smile can complete my day. you're Chinese-looking eyes are so cute. without a doubt, I then realized

I AM STARTING TO LOVE YOU MISS MAJPG...

And since I am creating my new journal about regret, by the time that you are there, I forgot to put in my mind that.

"MATURITY IS FREE, BUT I INSIST TO BUY IT FOR A CENT."

The poem above is my letter of apology.

But why? Why would you make me suffer like this?

Even your closest friends, they don't know where you are?

But then again, Even my heart is tainted and bruise. I'll still wait for you to come back and see your face that would complete not only my life, but would complete my whole life that has been searching for its missing piece for 2 years.... and counting.
